Why NHAA?

      • On Line Registration
      • No Raffle Ticket requirements - we do not require our families to sell anything
      • No Concession Stand obligations - we do not require our parents to work our concession stand

In addition to the reasons above we offer baseball and softball to the North Hills area youth between the ages of five and eighteen years of age.  Our focus is on player development and the promotion of good sportsmanship.  To accomplish these objectives, we provide numerous opportunities for the players.

  • Off-season Clinics: Player development starts in the off-season.  Last year, we teamed up with the North Hills School District and coordinated All-Skills Clinics taught by Varsity baseball and softball coaches.  For our younger softball players we also offer a basic skills clinic run by the head coach of the LaRoche Redhawks.

  • Inter-League (Association) Play:  We schedule regular season games with the DeHaven Athletic Association to promote good sportsmanship and to give our players a chance to play teams outside of North Hills.

  • Sunday Baseball: Each year given the opportunity to try out for our Sunday Travel Teams.  The Sunday Travel League plays other equally competitive teams from across the region.  This is an excellent opportunity for North Hills players to raise their level of play while challenging themselves personally and sharpening team skills.(details)

  • Tournament Play for Players Aged 8 to 12:  Each June players are selected for tournament teams.  These teams travel the area to participate in more competitive tournaments where play requires a greater level of skill on the part of the player and a modest time commitment from the player's family.

  • Wooden Bat Tournament:  NHAA hosts the region's only Wooden Bat Tournament.  This event attracts teams from all over the county and gives twelve year old players a chance to feel the difference in play between the familiar metal bat and a wooden one.  Very little compares to the CRACK! of a baseball hit perfectly off the sweet spot of a wooden bat.

  • Knights of Columbus T.R.Y. Little League Tournament:  For the past thirty six years, North Hills is one of only four associations invited to participate in this worthwhile tournament.  Other teams include Brad-Mar-Pine, Ingomar/Franklin Park and McCandless.

  • Recognition of - 12-year olds:  As a show of our appreciation, players who have been involved with NHAA's summer leagues for at least two years and who are registered to play as a 12-year old are recognized by the Association and presented a special gift, compliments of the NHAA.

  • Palomino Showcase:  Each year our palomino team travels to an out-of-state baseball showcase, giving our Varsity and Junior Varsity level players an opportunity to play in front of college scouts.
